The Utah State Aggies opened up defense of their WAC tournament title this afternoon against the Boise State Broncos and came away with a win to push their winning streak to 16 consecutive games. The Aggies jumped out to an early 6-0 lead forcing Boise State to take an early timeout. Boise State roared back to take a 10-8 lead but Utah State fought back as 1st team all WAC players Jared Quayle and Tai Wesley scored 9 and 8 points respectively to go up at the half 35-30. Daequon Montreal led Boise state with 10 points in the 1st half. Boise State tried to keep it close by putting pressure on the Aggies and forcing 15 turnovers, but the Aggies would not be denied. They put together a solid effort on the defensive end and out-rebounded the broncos 47-27. They also executed on the offensive end by shooting 52% from the field and 44% from 3 point range.
